We have very hi-fi toilets here. You dont have to bother about pushing something to flush it out with water. All you need to do is just stand at a specific distance not exceeding some limit, and Lo! there are infrared sensors. A green light comes up and after you move out, it automatically flushes.
Though it is creepy to see some machine staring at you, its a comfort. But you can also fool these machines. You stand a little far and they fail to detect you. So no flushing ;-). You put some other object in front of it. It will still sense the heat and flush. In fact more the time you keep it in front of them, more the water that is wasted. There should also be some mechanism by which they periodically flush also, because there are people like me who do every possible thing to fool those machines and be undetected.
In our process of modernization, we dont even remember to keep manual alternatives. Hence, there was a war from 2 days here. Some power problem and the machines stopped functioning. The sanitation guys had a tough time to keep them clean!
Very small war, but a big lesson to learn.
